“Current medicine mostly fights against the body’s natural balance to treat symptoms but should be working in harmony with nature to treat the whole patient”
Dr. Miri Ben-Ami
Short of stopping the clock, hormone health expert Dr. Miri Ben-Ami, MD, BSc(Hons), MSCP, does the next best thing, ensuring the ongoing health and well-being of women with signs and symptoms of hormonal imbalances such as during the menopausal transition time to post-menopause in addition to other hormone related problems such as hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue and weight control problems.
Menopause (starting in the perimenopause) can be viewed as a sentinel event in a woman’s life, presenting a great and unique opportunity for:
At her clinic Dr. Ben-Ami has always recognized the uniqueness of each of her patients as she passionately cares for them by finding the right treatment for the right patient at the right dose and at the right time on their path to health and balance.
Dr. Ben-Ami has been successfully treating patients suffering from hormonal imbalances such as:
Dr. Ben-Ami, graduated from Witwatersrand Medical School, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1995 and gained clinical experience in women’s health during her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in South Africa and UK. Due to her special interest in hormonal health care for women prior to and following menopause, she completed advanced studies in menopause and is a certified menopause clinician through the North American Menopause Society, a leading society in the field of menopause, its medical guidelines being implemented in Israel and the rest of the world. Expanding her training around hormonal related health challenges, Dr. Ben-Ami received certification in Obesity Management from the World Federation of Obesity and has gained expertise in weight control and management which is possible by personalised and individually fitted care.
In addition to her clinical experience in Women’s health, Dr. Ben-Ami is an expert in clinical research of innovative medicines and has held senior management positions in Research and Development divisions in a large global pharmaceutical company and later as CEO of a start-up pharmaceutical company bringing new treatments through FDA and EMA approval to patients. This has led to her deep understanding that one size does not fit all and every treatment plan should be tailored according to each patient’s unique needs.
When she’s not busy helping her patients feel the best they can, Dr. Ben-Ami consults to biotech companies on drug development and to doctors and other healthcare providers on up to date menopausal care, and is active at the Rackman Centre for advancing women’s rights. She also makes sure to leave some time for her young children who fill her up with positive energies that help her get through whatever each day brings.
