I suffered terribly for 10 years after surgically induced menopause at age 40 to preventitively reduce my cancer risk due to the BRCA2 gene. Having been a joyful and energetic person, I found myself drowning in unfamiliar anxiety attacks, sleepless nights, fatigue and generally not feeling like myself anymore. Until I found Dr Ben Ami I was waved away by gynecologists, sent to therapy by my GP and told that full HRT was not appropriate for me due to my cancer risk, despite my surgery and that the low dose synthetic medication I was given would protect my heart and bones. My doctors did not have the specialist, current knowledge or know how to recognise that I was suffering terribly and needed hormones and could not only take them safely but needed them to stay healthy. I am so grateful to have found Dr Ben Ami, to be able to feel as good as I used to pre surgery and know that my health is being cared for correctly and effectively. I hope any woman in my position will be lucky enough to be in her care and be referred to her immediately.
